Thassos Island

Thassos island is located on the northern side of the Aegean Sea. It is a unique island surrounded by both mountain and sea, which makes a perfect combination of green scenery and crystal-clear blue waters. The village of Potos is situated 45 kilometers away from Limenas and 25 kilometers away from Prinos. This small village is an ideal holiday destination, since it transmits its pulse and aura throughout the whole island. Its narrow streets are ‘’flooded’’ with little shops, cheerful tourists and taverns that offer unique Greek culinary experience.

This village is named after the Virgin Mary, and probably not coincidentally! Panagia is a place blessed with natural beauties, but also with people who know how to honor the meaning of hospitality. One of its insurmountable natural beauties is the cave of Drakotripa. Perennial trees and running spring waters dominate the village square. Where the mountain Ipsarion stands, lies the picturesque village of Potamia. Verdurous land, traditional houses covered with stone and a view that combines mountain and sea. Prinos is ideally located right at the middle of the island and its port is conveniently accessible by boat from Kavala. It is basically the commercial and cultural center of the region that works as a key with the tourist transportation, but it also has tourist appeal, as its sandy beaches and breathtaking sunsets seem to gain more attention. Prinos, together with all the villages that comprise it, the old Kalyvia village, the new village, Skala and the Mikro Kazaviti and Megalo Kazaviti, is one of the most beautiful places in Thassos boasting a host of sites worth a visit.
